Module Description
-----------------
This module can be used to list running processes, set the front process and
quit any/all processes. Clicking on the module display will bring up a popup
menu with a list of all running applications. The process currently in front
will be marked with a bullet (•). Choosing one of these processes will cause
that process to become the front-most process.
Holding down the shift key while choosing the module will display a similar
list of applications, but in this case choosing one of them will cause that
process to quit. Choosing 'All but Finder' will cause all processes to be quit,
leaving just the finder. This is useful for quiting everything to free up memory
for a large application or when memory becomes fragmented. This option will quit
_all_ processes including background processes such as the Express Modem, etc.
To quit just applications, choose the option 'All Applications'.
Limitations
-----------
There are a couple of things to keep in mind when using the module. First
shutting down the processes requires the use of Apple Events. This can only be
done if the front-most application is capable of handling Apple Events. For most
applications this isn't a problem, but if you are using an older application you
may have to switch to the Finder or other Apple Event aware application.
Distribution
------------
This file can be freely distributed by online systems and individual BBS
systems as long as the original package is distributed intact, including the
documentation and registration information. If you would like to distribute it
for a fee on CD, disk or other media, please contact me for permission.
Registration
------------
This module is part of a package of modules that are distributed as
shareware. I ask for $10 to register any/all of the modules. Please see the
enclosed registration file for details.
